Improve clarity of speech and be more confident, clear, and professional in speaking.
Lead more effective meetings and be confident, inclusive, and professional.
International Business Professionals often have accents that impact their effectiveness at work, whether in meetings, on the phone with clients, or in everyday interactions with colleagues.
Do you listen to native English speakers and know that it sounds different from your English - but you can’t figure out what’s different? Do you finish speaking in a meeting only to have your manager jump in and explain what you just said? Do you listen to team members from different countries and have trouble understanding their “accent”?
Surprisingly, it has little to do with individual sounds - pesky b, v, ch, i sounds - and more about the rhythm of your native language and English. In this course, take a deep dive into how you can improve the rhythm of your English and some of the individual sounds that are uniquely difficult for your first language.
Whether participating in or leading a meeting, International Business Professionals may be held back from advancing their careers because they aren’t as effective as they could be in meetings. This course will help you gain awareness of phrases and strategies for the most common situations in business meetings and prepare you to participate and respond to events in the moment.
You increase your chances to grow when you are perceived as someone in control of the meeting, easily responding to the situations, or handling high-stakes discussions properly. Do you want more visibility in your career but feel nervous sharing an idea in a meeting? Are you uncomfortable giving your opinion (especially if it is negative) in a way that others will hear? Do you know how to ask someone to clarify their position and your own? Can you effectively stop someone from talking and get the meeting back on track? Do you have strategies to invite someone to share their thoughts who may be reluctant to jump in?
